ZU252: Signal Converter Incremental >>> Analog / Serial

The ZU252 has been discontinued as of 30.11.2019. The ZU210 offers a complete replacement. More details of ZU210 ...

The ZU252 is a cost-effective but extremely powerful converter for industrial applications where the result of an incremental position or event count is to be displayed as an analog signal and / or serial data word. The compact signal converter converts the incremental measured value (angular position, distance, position) detected by a rotary pulse encoder, a length measuring system or a sensor into a corresponding analog value (voltage or current) as well as a serial data format.

Useful programmable features such as teach function or freely definable linearization characteristics round off the enormous functionality of this converter. The device is housed in a compact housing for fast and simple DIN rail snap-on mounting and has 12 screw terminals as well as a 9-pin SUB-D socket.

  • Pulse inputs with format A, B, 2 x 90° [HTL]
    or A, /A, B, /B [RS422]
  • Input frequency up to 1 MHz [RS422] or 200 kHz [HTL]
  • Scalable 14 bit analog output for ±10 V
    or 0/4 ... 20 mA
  • Output polarity ± follows rotation direction (phasing A / B)
  • Power supply 18 ... 30 VDC
  • Snap-on housing for top hat rail
    (according to EN 60715)
  • Serial RS232 / RS485 interface
  • Very short conversion time (about 1 ms)
  • Easy to set up by simple TEACH procedure, or by PC
    (operator software: see Support)
  • Free scaling, programmable linearization curves etc.
  • Power units  for 24 V power supply: see Accessories
